I’m all for this moron to be impeached, the only issue is that if he is then pence is made president and i don’t think he’s any better
I’ve heard this a lot and I…disagree.
Pence has a history of awful policy because he’s actually been in government vs Trump’s history of just being an awful person. But the way I see it, there is no way Mike Pence could have gotten elected. The GOP had been on a major losing streak with Presidential elections before Trump came along. Basically, Trump has all the charisma. For some unfathomable reason, there is a misinformed subset of the populace who don’t normally vote republican (or at all) that think of him as a “man of the people”. (Likely because some people see macho posturing and wealth as evidence of intrinsic merit)
I worry about 2020 because most Presidents get re-elected, and a country that elected Trump could elect him again (especially after 4 years of State mandated voter suppression and gerrymandering). But in my heart of hearts, I see no way an interim-President Pence could get re-elected. For all Trump looks like a moldy tangerine, Pence looks like the villain from a Saturday morning cartoon. I just don’t see it for him.
Double plus, the scandal from having a President impeached usually dampens support for that party.
Triple plus, Trump is probably a rapist who is beholden to Putin and has undisclosed business ties around the world. He is trying to put his family members in staff positions, conspicuously provoking nazis (rather than just covertly), and is unfit for office by every possible measure. Pence is evil, yes, but he’s (slightly) less corrupt and (probably) much more stable.
Reblogging because I’ve seen a disturbing number of people claiming that we shouldn’t impeach Trump because Pence, a man with no charisma, no global recognition, no legion of cheering nazi-crowds, no billion-dollar global business is worse???
